Growing up working on a farm, Rick learned early on the definition of hard work, commitment and sacrifice. He values the importance of faith, family and a long-term focus on achieving a common goal. Rick applies this same work ethic, dedication and focus to help clients achieve their goals with the transparency, integrity, and respect that they deserve. 

Rick brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry to The Kelly Group. He is adept at working one-on-one with clients to develop appropriate financial planning strategies that can help them achieve their financial and life goals. 

Prior to joining The Kelly Group in 2018, Rick served as regional director for Edelman Financial Services and as vice president, regional planning consultant for Fidelity Investments. He has mentored, trained and developed more than 100 financial advisors and representatives in the planning areas of retirement, college, wealth accumulation, mortgage, life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care, estate and pension analysis. A prolific speaker, Rick has held educational workshops across the region on such topics as wealth management, estate planning, retirement planning and market updates.

At Fidelity, Rick was recognized by his approximately 300 peers with the Excellence in Action award, which signifies a commitment to clients and financial planning. He was also a Chairman’s Club member and received the highest customer satisfaction score in the organization. At Edelman, he served as co-chair of the Financial Planning Committee (OFOV), which oversaw the financial planning process and investment approach for approximately 160 financial planners.

Rick is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania. He coached youth baseball and soccer in Harford County for 13 years and served on the Board of Directors for the Jarrettsville Rec Council and the Northern Elite Soccer Club in Harford County. He also serves on the finance committee for his local church. Born and raised in Harford County, he is a member of the 2019 class of the Harford Leadership Academy. He lives in Jarrettsville with his wife and children.
