Anika S. Jones, Esq., is detail oriented and believes in the power of planning.
As chief compliance officer, Anika helps ensure that the firm’s corporate compliance program is understood and demonstrated at every level. Industry regulations and ethics guide her work and drive collaboration across the organization.
An attorney and compliance professional, Anika has been serving the securities industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining The Kelly Group, she founded RIA Gateway Compliance, LLC, a consulting firm that delivers robust and practical compliance solutions and risk management strategies for registered investment advisors. Earlier she served as vice president and counsel for Morgan Stanley, where she counseled the wealth management division on broker-dealer and investment-advisory customer alleged sales practice violations, as well as regulatory inquires arising from customer complaints. She has also held several positions with Campbell & Company, an alternative asset manager and registered investment adviser, where she provided counsel and guidance on a wide array of matters including compliance, regulatory, corporate governance, risk, prime brokerage, vendor management, product structuring and distribution. As a senior member of the compliance team, Anika established, implemented, and tested policies and procedures to help ensure that the compliance program was effective and efficient in complying with applicable laws and regulations.
Anika earned a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law and a BS and MS in sociology from St. John’s University. She is a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals and the Maryland State Bar Association. She also is on the board of directors of and a volunteer for the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland as well as a member of the board of trustees of The Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ.
Anika lives in Towson, MD, with her spouse, JaMarr Jones; their children, Braxton and Payton; and Lucky, their fur baby boxer. She enjoys hiking, antiquing and upcycling, as well as being Team Mom for her son and daughter’s traveling baseball and basketball teams.
